Our own platform, in Germany
Our hosting platform sits in Germany and has redundant connectivity. It is not a brochure but production: since 2014 it has carried the entire IT of sector7 – several hundred virtual machines, continuously and without interruption. We pass that experience on: for customers, we run security systems there in continuous operation – for a municipal waste-management association, a sector regulated under IT-SiG 2.0 and NIS-2, the FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager instances for several years.
Hybrid, not dogmatic: connected to the major clouds
For us, an own platform does not mean refusing the cloud. We are connected to the three major hyperscalers – AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud – on two paths: over redundant VPN connections and over a direct connection at DE-CIX Frankfurt. That direct path does not run across the open internet but is dedicated – with guaranteed bandwidth, a contractual SLA and outside the public DDoS attack surface. There we build, change and tear down infrastructure fully automated: with Terraform and the common tools, as code, versioned and traceable. So you get sovereignty where it matters and cloud elasticity where it helps – from one hand, in one operating model.
DDoS defense at full DE-CIX capacity
We don't intercept volumetric attacks at our own line but at the exchange. Using BGP FlowSpec, we distribute filter rules directly into the network layer and mitigate DDoS attacks with the full capacity of DE-CIX – malicious traffic is dropped before it reaches our systems or yours. Defense runs at the capacity of one of the world's largest internet exchanges, not at that of your access bandwidth.
Availability: measured and designed
We state availability twice, and honestly. Over three years, in live operation, we measured 99.999%. The platform is designed and contractually assured for 99.9% – that is the figure you can rely on; the measured 99.999% is the result, not a promise. The platform is designed geo-redundantly across separate sites in Germany, so the failure of one site does not halt operations; connectivity is redundant, the power supply independent.
Powered by our own, green electricity
Sustainability is part of how we operate, not a badge on top: powered by electricity from our own photovoltaic system and certified green power.
Verifiable: registered with the Bundesnetzagentur
We are registered as a telecommunications provider with the Bundesnetzagentur (German Federal Network Agency) – a verifiable fact, not a marketing claim.
How this fits into an operating model for digital sovereignty, read under Digital sovereignty.
