At sector7, cloud begins with our own infrastructure: we operate our own server park — fully modernized in 2018, 2022, and 2026, now in its third generation. On it we provide private cloud environments; alongside that we plan and operate hybrid architectures with the major public cloud platforms AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Which workload belongs where is decided by requirements for data protection, cost, and operations — not by a trend. And because hybrid reality is not a buzzword: our datacenters are directly connected in a hybrid setup to AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud — there we run our own services in production, including our remote monitoring. Workloads can thus be provisioned worldwide and stay interlocked with our monitoring and operations.

Virtualization: VMware and Proxmox
We plan, migrate, and operate virtualization environments on VMware and Proxmox VE — as a Proxmox reseller, including the subscriptions. For many mid-sized companies, the trajectory of VMware licensing costs is the reason to seriously evaluate alternatives. We assess soberly whether a switch holds up for your environment, and carry out the migration — step by step, during ongoing operation, and with tested fallback paths.
Datacenter operation and housing
For the operation of your IT we offer complete datacenter services — from colocation/housing through backup to 24/7 monitoring: your systems are monitored automatically around the clock, and detected faults are handled according to contractually agreed response paths. Our carrier-neutral datacenter sites are designed with redundant cooling, power, and fire-protection technology; redundancy, backup strategies, and emergency plans are part of the concept, not a surcharge.

On site at the customer: server, storage, and backup
Not every environment belongs in the datacenter. Where data protection, latency, or operational reasons favor systems in your own house, we plan, procure, and operate your infrastructure directly on site with you — server, storage, virtualization, and the matching backup. The difference from a pure hardware purchase: we do not hand over at the loading dock, but dimension to your actual needs, pre-configure, build out, and put the systems into operation documented.
On hardware we remain vendor-neutral. As an HPE partner we procure server and storage at partner conditions; if you need Dell, Fujitsu, or a specialist system for good reasons, we procure that too — the choice follows your requirement, not a partner program. - Server & storage on site: dimensioned, delivered, built out, and configured — from a single server to a complete server room.
- Virtualization: VMware or Proxmox VE, set up and operated — with tested fallback paths for migrations.
- Backup on site: Veeam-based backup in house, optionally supplemented by a replicated copy in our server park — the last copy never resides in only one place.
- Operation included: new systems run documented within our 24/7 monitoring, rather than ending up in a box next to the cabinet.
The real advantage arises where on site and datacenter interact: your systems run at your premises, their backup replicates into our server park, and in an emergency we restart services on our side while the on-site environment is being restored. Whether a workload is best placed with the customer, in our private cloud, or in the public cloud we decide together with you — and move it if the requirement changes. That is the difference from a pure on-site provider: local proximity and datacenter from a single source.

Public cloud, private cloud, or our own datacenter — what is right for us?
That can only be derived responsibly from your workloads, compliance requirements, and cost structures, not from a trend. We analyze which applications run most economically and securely where, and design a target picture from that — often a hybrid model of on-premises resources and public cloud services. A complete migration to the cloud is not an end in itself here.
Can you take over our existing infrastructure and modernize it step by step?
Yes, that is the normal case. We start with an assessment including documentation of the existing systems, define a migration path, and modernize during ongoing operation — planned within maintenance windows, with fallback options for every step. A big-bang overhaul is explicitly not necessary.
Where is our data stored and what about data protection?
Your data remains under your control — that is a core principle of our architectures. For sensitive workloads we rely on private environments and German datacenter locations; for public cloud scenarios on clean encryption, access, and logging concepts. Data-protection and compliance requirements flow into the design from the start, not afterward.
What happens after the migration — do you also operate the environment?
On request, yes. We take over monitoring, patch management, backup, and operations as a managed service with 24/7 monitoring at predictable flat monthly rates. Alternatively, we hand the environment over cleanly documented to your internal IT and remain available selectively for operations and further development.
