The owner
Peter Homeister · Owner and Managing Director
Peter Homeister founded sector7 GmbH in Solingen in 2014 and has led it as its owner ever since. He brings 20 years of engineering and architecture experience and takes responsibility for customer environments from design through build to operation. Before founding the company he was permanently employed at Schwarz Pharma in Monheim and at Qiagen in Hilden, among others – that is where his familiarity with pharmaceutical and biotech workflows comes from. That is the mission: no hand-offs, no losses on the way between teams. You have one steady counterpart who knows your environment, stays reachable and talks to you as an equal.

The team behind sector7
Behind sector7 is a permanent team of five engineers – the owner and four permanently employed colleagues. No call centre, no rotating contacts: the same people plan, build and operate your environment.

- 2014
Founding of sector7 GmbH
Founded in Solingen and owner-led from day one: since 2014, sector7 GmbH has been shaping digital infrastructure for mid-sized companies and large enterprises.
- 2015
Entering the managed services business
Project work becomes lasting responsibility: we take over the ongoing operation of customer infrastructures. In the same year, we form strategic partnerships with Juniper and F5 – the technical foundation of our networking and security focus.
- 2016
Construction of the new premises begins
sector7 outgrows its first offices: construction of the new premises begins – designed for a company that does not just operate infrastructure but owns it.
- 2017
Strategic partnership with HPE
HPE adds the server and storage building block to the portfolio: data center infrastructure from a single source, from the network to the platform.
- 2018
Moving into the new premises – and a fully renewed server park
A new location, new possibilities: sector7 moves into the new premises. In the same year, we completely modernize our server park – the first of several generations of our own infrastructure.
- 2021
LIR: member of the RIPE NCC
sector7 becomes a Local Internet Registry and a member of the RIPE NCC. Our own IP address space, managed in-house – a step that few providers of our size take, and the foundation for internet infrastructure without dependencies.
- 2022
Server park: second full modernization
On schedule rather than out of necessity: the entire server park is brought up to date again. Our customers run on technology that we ourselves renew regularly – not on legacy systems.
- 2026
Third modernization – and connection to DE-CIX
The server park is completely modernized for the third time. At the same time, sector7 connects to DE-CIX – at the Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich locations. Direct exchange with the world's major networks, short paths for our customers' data.

Our own infrastructure – not a sales pitch, but an operating model
Much of what we recommend to our customers, we run ourselves first.
- Server park
- Our own, geo-redundant server infrastructure, fully modernized in 2018, 2022 and 2026 – renewed on a cycle rather than written off.
- Network
- Local Internet Registry and member of the RIPE NCC since 2021: our own IP address space under our own management.
- Peering
- Connected to DE-CIX at four locations: Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich.
- Proof
- This website runs on our own servers – with no cloud detour and no provider in between.
